RIP Jane Russell

 I just picked up the paper about an hour ago to find that Jane Russell had died on the 28th February. I admit to not knowing much about her but as this is a cinema/film blog I had to mention it. She was certainly one of the first acknowledged sex-bombs of the big screen during the 1940's and 50's, but whose career fell away in the late 50's due to booze and never recovered.
 Never a great actress it is always sad to see our own mortality mirrored in the death of such a public name and figure.
